Shisui Uchiha Was Minato Namikaze’s Disciple!!

As an avid fan of the Naruto series, I’ve often found myself pondering the many “what-ifs” that the story leaves open to interpretation. One such intriguing idea is the possibility of Shisui Uchiha being a personal disciple of Minato Namikaze. While it’s not a commonly accepted theory, the plausibility of it makes for an interesting discussion. Here are some of my thoughts on the matter.

The Discovery of Potential

After the Third Shinobi War, Minato, known for his keen eye and ability to spot talent, could have easily recognized Shisui’s incredible potential. This period was crucial for Konoha, and nurturing strong shinobi was a priority. Minato taking Shisui under his wing to provide formal training feels like a logical step. Imagine the Yellow Flash of the Leaf seeing a spark in Shisui and deciding to hone it personally—this alone adds a rich layer to both characters’ backstories.

Personality Traits

Shisui’s calm and laid-back personality always stood out to me, especially when compared to the typical Uchiha demeanor. Unlike the often cynical and arrogant nature seen in many Uchiha, Shisui’s demeanor was strikingly different. This could very well be attributed to Minato’s influence. Picture the gentle yet powerful presence of Minato shaping Shisui’s approach to life and battle, imparting wisdom and a sense of calm that Shisui carried throughout his life.

Mastery of Techniques

Both Minato and Shisui were known for their incredible speed, mastering the Flying Raijin and Body Flicker techniques, respectively. I like to think that Shisui initially tried to master the Flying Raijin but found his true calling with the Body Flicker technique. Perhaps under Minato’s guidance, Shisui discovered the path that suited him best, leading him to refine the Body Flicker to perfection.

A Tragic Turning Point

In a bit of creative retcon, I imagined that Shisui unlocked his Mangekyō Sharingan upon Minato’s death rather than through the death of a childhood friend. This twist not only deepens Shisui’s connection to Minato but also provides a plausible reason for Shisui’s inaction during the Nine Tails’ attack. With the emotional turmoil following Minato’s death, it’s conceivable that Shisui was too overwhelmed to use Kotoamatsukami on the Nine Tails.

The Village’s Decision

Konoha’s leadership, always cautious about the power dynamics within the village, would likely have kept Shisui away from Naruto, the Nine Tails’ Jinchuuriki. This explains why Shisui never visited his deceased master’s son, adding another layer of tragedy to his story. Shisui, the most powerful living Uchiha, being kept away from someone who could have benefited from his guidance, is a poignant thought.

Conclusion

While the idea of Shisui being Minato’s disciple is just a personal theory, it’s a somthing that adds depth and a little more complexity to both characters. Imagining these scenarios helps us to keep the world of Naruto alive in our mind.
